Visão quádrupla na prática: dados, teoria, intuição e a arte da terapia

Resumo

Este artigo descreve uma abordagem terapêutica inspirada tanto pela obra de Gregory Bateson, quanto pelo conceito “visão quádrupla” proposto pelo poeta e místico William Blake. Uma visão quádrupla envolve o uso de dados, teoria e intuição em um processo estético. Ela propõe uma maneira de pensar os elementos da prática como sendo partes interconectadas e igualmente importantes de uma teia estética, mais do que partes ou domínios isolados que precisam ser agregados e encaixados numa estrutura formal e rígida. De modo bastante significativo, esta abordagem oferece ao terapeuta meios de incorporar sua experiência interna – inclusive sua intuição – em um processo coerente que também envolve o uso de teoria e de dados de pesquisa. As quatro dimensões da visão – a visão quádrupla – inte-ragem e criam um desdobramento iterativo. Mas não deixa de ser um tanto complicado se deslocar de partes e todos para relações e processos! Neste sentido, o artigo também apresenta um estudo de caso com o intuito de oferecer algumas pistas sobre como a visão quádrupla pode ser usada para informar e refletir na prática terapêutica.
